Fun on the Beach with Swatch

The Summer Special this year is a Chrono Plastic that comes with a Rocket Ball for throwing around on the beach and a coolly bag.  It is called Summer Curves (SUIW401) and comes in special packaging together with the toy and the bag, the watch can be found here.

New watches for Chrono Plastic

The incredibly popular Chrono Plastic range has got some new models for Summer 2009, details can be seen here.  As well as the new watches they have a released a new behind the scenes video of the making of the TV advert.

These watches are great because they have all of the Chronograph functions and the sporty feel but because they are 100% plastic they are so light to wear.   Last summer they were our best sellers, Swatch will be hoping that the new models will repeat the trick.

Fresh Look from Mango

The Mango ramge of watches are made by Swatch under licence but despite this we have been rather cool on some of the designs in the past.  But for Summer 2009 they have really got their act together.  You can see the entire range here, but for what it is worth our favourites are QM211.99.04, QM711.92.01 and QM211.99.03.

We have freshened up the homepage at www.buyaswatch.co.uk to try and make it easier for you to find the watch you want.  There are now direct links to the latest watches, all the different sizes of watches, the different strap types, different colours and you can select by watch function.

Make Mum Happy

Mother's day is fast approaching and as always Swatch has something special for your favourite lady.  This year it is a Irony Medium with a white synthetic leather strap and loop. On the strap you’ll find flowers, a delicate floral pattern embossed in white on white. The case is made of polished stainless steel 316L, as is the polished bezel. Engraved on the bezel are more delicate flowers, the same variety that decorate the strap, and the floral pattern is continued, tone on tone, on the white dial. This subtly embossed decoration is enhanced by six white crystals, set in the dial to indicate hours six through eleven.  

It comes in special packaging and with a photo frame for you to pop a photo of yourself to add to the surprise!!

Spring/Summer has arrived (?)

It might not feel like Spring and it certainly does not feel like summer but Swatch have launched their new Spring/Summer range for 2009. Details of the range can be found here and we will let you know in a few weeks time which models are proving to be the favourites.

Bond is back

A few years ago to mark the 40th anniversary of the James Bond films Swatch did a really popular range of watches, one for each film. Now Swatch has linked up with 007 again to launch the Bond Villian range of watches. From Baron Samedi to Rosa Klebb and Bolfeld to Odd Job, all 22 villians have their own watches.

The watches are already selling fast and are sure to be a big hit this Christmas.

New Fall Winter Collection

We have received all of the details of the new Swatch fall/winter collection and are busy getting everything ready for the launch on the 7th August. It does seem strange to be talking about winter when summer seems like it has only started this week!

What the papers say

The Free Running watches from Swatch are proving to be a great success. They were featured in Grazia and the Sunday Times Style magazine over the weekend and the response has been incredible. We have received loads of orders from customers in the past three days and have had to order in more stocks. Thankfully the Swatch logistic system is working well at the moment and they arrived from Switzerland within 48 hours.

We here are big fans of these Plastic Chrono watches because they are so light and the straps feel lovely and soft.

Batman + Swatch

Swatch have team up with Gotham City superhero Batman to produce a new Flik Flak watch that is sure to be a hit this Christmas. The watch comes in a presentation box along with a special batman torch.

Swatch Free Running Watches

Swatch have launched a new range of Plastic Chrono watches for summer 2008 and they really are very, very good. They are so light! We are used to chronograph watches being a bit larger, heavier and chunkier than the average watch, these turn everything upside down because they are so light, and with the silicone straps they have a slightly unusual 'jelly' like feel to them. The upside down reference is probably apt because the advertising that runs along side the launch relates to Free Running, the street craze of jumping off buildings and taking gymnastics to the street.

Definitely one of our favourite Swatch launches in the past few years.

My personal favourite is probably Smooth Wave.

Mango, the Spanish ladies fashion brand have a range of watches made by Swatch under private label. they are now available via our www.buyaswatch.co.uk website. Details can be found here.

Swatch Retrograde

Swatch have launched a really cool new range of watches that are unlike anything they have ever done before. So many people when they think of Swatch think of cheap plastic watches with funky designs. Yes that is what Swatch do, but it is not everything that they do. The Retrograde range takes their metal range of watches to a new level with some very clean lines and as the title suggests, classic 'retrograde' designs. Check them out here.

Cool Swatch Adverts

Swatch produce some cool adverts for both television and the web. We have upgraded the website at www.buyaswatch.co.uk to incorporate some of the adverts. We have started with the Puzzle Motion and FIVB (volleyball series of watches supporting Swatch's sponsorship of Volleyball) adverts.

Swatch Summer 2008

The British summer struggles to come to life but June, the Met Office tells us, is the start of summer and is therefore a good time to look at the Swatch Summer Sport collection. Most of the watches are chonographs and there is a range of watches from plastic to metal heavyweights.

Crazy Youngsters (GE198) is one for the teenagers while Colour Dome (YOS423) is proving to be popular. My personal favourite is World Talk (SUYB117) .
